Pros: It's nice to have the several all-in-one features in a compact unit. Scanner is nice, goes to high resolutions, and is very easy to use. OCR feature is very good and easy to set up. At least ink is individual, so you don't waste as much when one color goes out. Print quality is fine.

Cons: The two biggest drawbacks are: 1. Printer speed is vastly overrated. For a normal black and white page, it takes 30 seconds to a minute per page, and you will be waiting through your lunch hour for a high-quality color print! 2. It also drinks ink like a pig, and this ink is not cheap--nor refillable! It also stubbornly refuses to print black-only copies when one color is out. I gave it two stars for "ease of use" over this issue.

I had an Epson previously and loved it. Then I got a Lexmark. Very expensive cartridges. I saw this for a steal price at Sam's Club (sorry Amazon) so got it. It's very easy to set up (it didn't come with a USB cable so I used the Lexmark's). The instructions and software are very good.

I had a very large document to print. Fifteen pages in it crushed 2 pages. I couldn't find in the Epson software how to print these 2 pages. I called tech support. The tech had no clue once he actually understood what I wanted to do. I got his supervisor. She was smart, understood, knew, explained you now go through your word processing program. Great.

Printed out the entire 250 pages with no further issues. It's not dark dark and I would prefer to see the black more saturated but I don't see where to tweak that function. I also don't know how to turn the printer off. Pressing the on button doesn't do it. Whatever it is it's counterintuitive.

I ordered some generic cartridges for $7 each, buy 2 get 1 free, free shipping. Always used generics with the last Epson and never had a problem. Get the best deal possible on ink and you'll be a happy person.

So I think of this as a disposable--it's a delivery system for ink. If it lasts a year it owes me nothing at the price I paid. This is something for home use, not high volume for office use but it's a decent printer with all the scan/copy/fax functions you could want.

I've owned a number of printers, every major brand. HPs are good but the ink is outrageously expensive. Canons have never been reliable for me. I'm using a Lexmark now and so-far-so-good. (The only reason I bought a new one was because I wanted a wireless printer and this one appeared to be the best value.) I've owned three or four Epson printers. They've all been great printers and I think the ink prices are reasonable. Who's ink is cheap? If you want to save money buy your ink on eBay but those inks don't always work well and they void your warranty if the gunk it up.

This Epson printer is increadibly reliable. For the price it can't be beat by any other brand. (The only reason I am selling is because I decided I wanted a wireless printer.) I thought about getting a print server and keeping the printer but it was cheaper just to buy another pritner. This is an all-in-one WITH FAX MACHINE CAPABILITY. Most all-in-ones below $100 don't offer the fax option. You can criticize ink prices all you want but as far as reliability goes, Epson can't be beat.
